Weekend Inspiration

Choosing a career has to be the most stressful part of being a young adult.  I struggled for a long time trying to find something that I was passionate about, good at, and that made me happy–but was also practical.  In college, I began as an Art History major only to change halfway through, and when I graduated I felt like I had no path.

At a loss for what kind of job I should apply to and with no practical skills to speak of (other than writing), I chose to get my master’s in the history of decorative arts with the plan of working in a museum.  But now–three years later–I’ve finally found my passion: interior design.  And though I’m a little late to the game, I’m so excited to pursue a career and to put my knowledge of the decorative arts to good use!

I’m off to a job interview today, and though it’s scary abandoning my old plans it’s also liberating.  So here’s a little inspiration for anyone stuck on a less-than-satisfactory trajectory:
