THE BEFORE
Nestled at the base of the ski mountains, this house was lovely to begin with…but didn’t fit the style of our Californian clients. The request? Turn a traditional mountain home into a modern, bohemian space – without excess waste. Without a major remodel on the table, we turned our creativity on high to sustainably furnish and update the entirety of this 4,400 sq ft home.
THE AFTER
Mission accomplished. We kept renovations to a minimum – replacing a basic built-in in the dining room with a custom, locally-made piece inspired by our client’s Japanese heritage and adding a handmade-in-California backsplash in the kitchen. Modern, sculptural light fixtures and minimal furniture and artwork did the rest. With a heavy emphasis on natural materials, local makers, and handmade pieces, this is our most sustainable project yet.
