Hometalk Hometown Hustle
Today I am going to gush about a fabulous event that I went to this weekend: the Hometalk Hometown Hustle in Frederick, MD!
The Hustle was a kind of bloggers’ networking event mixed with food and shopping. Pretty much my idea of heaven, in other words.
For those of you who have never heard of Hometalk, it’s a great website for home design in which you can ask questions of the community as well as answer others’ queries, and if you’re a blogger you can publish posts and create inspiration boards. I like to think of it as a cross between Apartment Therapy, Pinterest, and Facebook. (Check it out, and don’t forget to follow me).
The day was organized by Cassie (who, if you don’t know her, has an awesome blog called Primitive and Proper and a vintage furniture business, Sweet Clover) and the ladies of Silk & Burlap. They introduced us to the a-mazingness of downtown Frederick, and by the end of the day I was wishing I could move there.
Honestly, if you are in the MD-DC-VA area–take a day trip! Not only are there something like 150 locally-owned boutique stores, but they host events on the first Saturday of every month with food and music. I’m going to head back in November or December for their carriage rides and street s’mores and to do a little Christmas shopping! (Find all their events and stores at their website).
I met some lovely fellow bloggers and got some great tips that I hope to implement on the site soon. Plus…swag! So here’s a BIG THANK YOU to Cassie, Angelique, Saule, and Miriam for putting on this event. All your hard work is very much appreciated!
Look at that swag! The notebook is from Silk & Burlap (visit them!), but I purchased the infinity scarf and vintage brass candlesticks at Sweet Clover Barn.
Happy Monday, everyone! Many more posts coming soon, to make up for my brief disappearance.

| 6 October 2014I used to live in Frederick & now I live close-by, and I miss it everyday! It’s such an adorable place. Have you ever heard of Chartreuse? It’s a vintage/antique goods store that’s open in Frederick once a month. They’re located a few minutes outside of downtown, and have different vendors (everything is located in a number of barns outside).
