Get the Look: Modern Farmhouse
One of my favorite trends right now is the rustic farmhouse dining table, albeit with a modern twist. The key to pulling this look off is a sculptural pendant light (preferably metal) and contrasting modern chairs. Throw a woven rug underneath for color and texture, or even go the extra length with sheepskin seat covers. Talk about cozy.
Below are some of my favorite examples. Scroll to the end to see how to replicate the look in your dining room!
(Please remember to pin from the original source.)Here the harsh lines of the table are softened by wishbone chairs.
My personal favorite; the modern windsor chairs and industrial pendant look so beautiful against the pale blue wall.
A metal base brings this table into the 21st century, while the curved windsors add a hint to the past.
Add a more eclectic feel by using the same chair in different colors, or different chairs painted in similar hues.
I want to bury my face on those chairs!
One of my all-time favorite bloggers, Dana from House*Tweaking uses tulip and wishbone chairs, which are connected by the tulips’ brown seat covers.
And another way to go–monochrome! Choose similar neutrals in a variety of textures–wood, metal, wool, etc.
And here are some great sources for making your own modern farmhouse dining room, at three different price points:
I personally have my eye on the table from LMF Furniture. If we ever have a house with a dining room, I’ll be purchasing that for our kitchen eating area and moving my current table out.
What do you think? Is this your style?
